When your home looks good, you feel good. That may be a bit overstated, but having a beautiful environment to live in sure doesn’t hurt! Dayspring Villa assisted living community received major renovations to our interior common spaces thanks to Aneka Interiors, a Denver-based interior-design firm with a lot of experience in senior living.
We’re pleased to offer more inviting spaces for our residents to enjoy. Our assisted living renovations focused on areas that our residents frequent most – the dining room, the lobbies on all three floors, and the first floor common area. Each of the areas got new artwork and refreshed paint colors and trim to give the space a whole new look and feel – a major upgrade for our whole community.
Brand new furniture was added to further enhance the upgrades and provide comfortable areas for residents to gather for conversation, a delicious meal or to plan the day’s activities. Our community loves to have places to play card games, entertain family and friends or just sit and read a book.
Just like when you have lived in your home for a few years, there comes a time when you want to create a new look, maybe for a more updated appearance or maybe you would like different features now than you did when you first moved in – for example, a walk-in shower or a kitchen island. A home renovation can make the same space feel like a whole new place even when the changes are relatively small or even to just one room. Whatever the reason, our environment can make a big impact on our everyday lives in both appearance and function.
Our older adults who call Dayspring Villa home spend a significant amount of time here and we think it ought to be a sanctuary – a place that inspires happiness, brings peace and wellbeing. At Dayspring Villa, it’s our goal to do everything we can to enhance the quality and dignity of life for our older adults who call our building home. A fresh new look can provide a boost of energy and excitement every day along with the knowledge that we care about our residence to constantly update it so that we can all have pride in our environment. Residents and team members alike are excited about the renovations and enjoy the new environment.
When we’re in a comfortable space our mood improves as well. Bright, airy spaces are like happiness batteries for humans. Natural light will boost your mood and quite literally brighten your day. It can lower stress levels and reduce the risk of other health conditions like depression and anxiety. Happy colors include bright, warm colors such as yellow, orange, pink, and red. Don’t worry, we didn’t paint our walls bright yellow, but we did use paint to provide a nice, bright and modern feel to our community spaces.
The best thing about the ‘home renovations’ for our residents, is that they did not have to take on the stress and financial burden of the project. Instead, they could leave all the hassle to our team who managed the process. Residents were asked to weather the minor inconveniences during the process and endure a little dust and hammering. However, they were happy to be patient and enjoy the new features of their familiar home. Now, our residents love showing off their home to their friends and family.
