This past year, the Covid-19 pandemic has challenged us in ways we never imagined. It has brought on increased stress and disrupted our daily routines and our lives. Recognizing the impact of these challenges on our mental and emotional well-being, Christian Living Communities and Dayspring Villa is working with the Colorado Spirit team to offer the “Together We! Thrive” six-part support series. Together We! Thrive will feature short video sessions and handouts offering professional and practical ways to support your whole well-being, so that we can find healthy ways to cope with our stress. Videos will be released on Facebook bi-monthly on Tuesdays, see the full schedule here.
The 6-part series kicked off on January 26th with “Self-Compassion in the Face of Disaster,” with Dr. Kristin Pyne. She explains how to face your emotions with self-compassion, knowing that these emotional responses are normal responses to an abnormal time. Instead of toughing it out or criticizing yourself, self-compassion invites you to acknowledge the difficult time you are experiencing and calls you to comfort and care for yourself just as you would comfort and care for a close loved one.
